MINISTRIES

Ministries for Every Stage of Life

Family Is a Big Deal Here

Children and students are a vital part of our church family. Kids are always welcome in worship, and we also offer age-specific environments where they can learn about Jesus in ways that fit their stage of life.

Nursery

Our Nursery provides a safe, nurturing space for our youngest children while parents participate in worship.

Our caring team members lovingly tend to your infants’ and toddlers’ needs so you can fully focus on the service.

Our state-of-the-art facility includes a private nursing room for mothers and a child comfort room equipped with a live feed of the service—providing a welcoming space for families when little ones become restless.

All staff members are trained and background-checked, and our nursery is equipped with a paging system should you need to be contacted during worship.

Children’s Neighborhood

Children’s Neighborhood is our Christian education environment for children ages 3 through 4th grade. Our education team helps children learn about the love of Christ through age-appropriate lessons, music, crafts, and engaging activities.

Through interactive experiences, Children’s Neighborhood builds a strong biblical foundation and partners with families to nurture each child’s spiritual growth.

4:12 Youth Ministry

THOTL 4:12 Youth Ministry is the dynamic youth arm of The House of the Lord, designed to equip, empower, and encourage young people ages 10–18 (5th–12th grade) to live boldly for Christ. Rooted in 1 Timothy 4:12, we believe our youth are not the “church of tomorrow”—they are leaders, worshipers, and disciples right now.

Our ministry exists to cultivate spiritual growth, leadership development, and authentic Christian community for youth in the Greater Akron area and beyond.

Our Mission

To develop spiritually grounded, emotionally healthy, and socially responsible young leaders who reflect Christ in their homes, schools, churches, and communities.

Our Vision

We envision a generation of youth who:

  • Know God personally
  • Understand their identity and purpose
  • Lead with integrity and humility
  • Serve with compassion
  • Stand firm in faith in a changing culture

This Is Us – Marriage Class

This Is Us is a Christ-centered marriage class designed to help couples view marriage as ministry—a daily calling to serve, love, and reflect Christ to one another. Led by Deacon Wayne Douglas and Sister Malisheia Douglas, this class equips couples with practical, biblically grounded tools to strengthen their connection and deepen their commitment.

Each week features Scripture-based teaching, real-life application, and guided conversations that create space for growth, healing, and intentional connection. Couples are encouraged to build a marriage rooted in purpose, grace, and God’s design.

Join us on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in Room 109.

Show Them the Father – Men’s Class

We create space for God’s Spirit to guide honest, life-giving conversations around the real issues and challenges men face every day. In a multicultural and multigenerational discipleship environment, we engage in meaningful, transparent dialogue that helps us grow in Christ and live out our calling to “Show Them the Father.”

Join us each Sunday from 8:45–10:00 a.m. as we gather in person in Rooms 106 & 108 or virtually via Zoom. All men are welcome—come ready for real talk, spiritual growth, and authentic brotherhood.

Creative Women Designed by God

This class is designed for women of all ages—from the youngest to the most seasoned—who desire to become all that God created them to be. Rooted in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them,” our time together is biblically grounded and purpose driven.

As we prepare for our walk in Christ, we seek God’s will through the study of Scripture alongside trusted Christian authors. In a welcoming and supportive environment, we share, learn, and grow together toward spiritual maturity in Christ.

You are warmly invited to join us each Sunday morning from 8:45–10:00 a.m., meeting in person in Rooms 105–107 on the church campus or virtually via Zoom.

Stewards of Wisdom

Stewards of Wisdom is a transformative Bible study for believers who desire to move beyond reading Scripture to truly understanding, engaging, and living it out. Through thoughtful study and guided discussion, the class explores foundational questions of faith—such as the relevance of the Ten Commandments today, the meaning behind the names of God, insights from Revelation, and how Christ is revealed throughout both the Old and New Testaments. Participants will gain a deeper grasp of core biblical doctrines and practical tools for applying God’s Word to everyday life.

Stewards of Wisdom meets every Sunday from 9:00–10:00 a.m. (except fifth Sundays). In-person attendees may contact Deacon Larry Sylver at lesylver@outlook.com for location details. Remote participants are welcome via Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/6868530367
Meeting ID: 686 853 0367
Passcode: 767062

Join us as we grow in wisdom and faithfully steward the truth entrusted to us.
